I'm Tommie, the Author
Yes, that is 8-year-old me eagerly awaiting the singing of the birthday song, so that I can dig into that bowl of ice cream. And yes, the slightly older version finds it difficult to turn down a bowl of my favorite... cookies and cream!
Now as a pastor, former educator and politician, I am acutely aware of the issues that can divide us. It has been a joy creating the Bright Birds providing an opportunity to promote community while bringing smiles to children's faces... much like a big bowl of ice cream!
